My son played peek-a-boo under the white covers. Then, he asked me, using his sign language, to sing him his favorite songs, "Twinkle, Twinkle" and "Wheels on the Bus". He uses the sign for stars, a good wiggling of the fingers, to ask for "Twinkle, Twinkle". He makes bus noises and waves his hand in a circle, like the wheels of a bus for his second favorite song. He built a fabulous set of tracks for his trains today that covered most of the living room floor. It looked like a tree, asleep from winter, with just it's spine curving up towards what little warmth the sky might deem to give it. I told him, "Oh, honey, that is wonderful! Just wonderful! And you did all by yourself. I'm so proud of you." And he smiled at me that gorgeous wonderful smile. You make my heart burst.
